Building on our cross-continental partnership with the ACT Brumbies, Hong Kong China Rugby is pleased to announce a tour to Canberra this weekend, where our women’s XVs will train and play alongside the Brumbies Super Rugby team.
The squad can look forward to an action-packed week of training, live scenarios and unit sessions before a game against the Brumbies on Saturday 3rd February at Viking Park Stadium, with their squad featuring Wallaroos stars Tania Naden, Tabua Tuinakauvadra, Jay Huriwai, Faitala Moleka and Siokapesi Palu.
Head Coach Royce Chan welcomes the opportunity for her squad: “It’s great to have an occasion to train alongside such a well-established set up. We’re taking a good mix of players with us, featuring a big cohort of younger up-and-coming players, so it will be fantastic to expose them to that professional environment and allow them to get more experience. We’re really looking forward to the challenge and the chance to learn from the Brumbies and develop our best practice”.
Hong Kong China Rugby General Manager of Performance Jo Hull is also delighted with the opportunity such a partnership presents her squad with: “We’re always looking to find exciting prospects for our representative teams to continuously improve their skills and have a chance to play quality opposition. Our relationship with the Brumbies is a fantastic opportunity for learning and development for our players, coaches and support staff. We have a really exciting year of international rugby ahead, so this type of preparation, particularly for our younger players, is key.”
