At the most recent Asia Rugby Council meeting held on 25th June, Council has officially ratified the recommendation of the Executive Committee confirming Japan as the host for the highly anticipated Asia Rugby Men’s and Women’s Paris 2024 Olympics Qualifiers. The event will determine teams from the region that will earn their spot at the next year’s summer Olympics.
Scheduled to take place on November 18th and 19th, 2023, the tournament will be held at the prestigious Mikuni World Stadium in Kitakyushu Fukuoka prefecture. Teams will engage in intense pool matches and play-offs over the course of the two-day competition. The ultimate victors of both the men’s and women’s competitions will secure direct qualification for the Rugby Sevens event at the 39th Summer Olympic Games in Paris.

However, the journey doesn’t end there for the second and third-placed teams. They will have an opportunity to participate in the Final Olympic Repechage Tournament, where they will vie for the final Rugby Sevens slot reserved for the Paris Olympics.
A total of 24 teams, comprising 288 athletes, will compete in the Rugby tournament at the highly anticipated Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

As Asia Rugby and Japan Rugby prepare to host this momentous event, the eyes of the rugby world will again turn to Japan, the home of the rising scrum, eagerly anticipating the battles and triumphs that will unfold at the Mikuni World Stadium in Kitakyushu in November 2023.
