Sri Lanka Rugby has selected a 12 member squad for the Olympic qualifier that will be worked off on the 23rd & 24th of November 2019 at the Namdong Stadium in South Korea.

The team led by captain Danush Dayan will leave the Island today (19th November). The squad selected include names that featured in the recently concluded Asia Rugby 7’s series. Sri Lanka will be looking for an improved performance this time around in Korea.
Rugby sevens was introduced to the Olympic Games in 2016, and currently, regional qualifiers are being held to select teams for the 2020 Tokyo Games. Japan the host for the games will qualify automatically, which leaves a 2nd team from Asia to qualify as well.
National coach Matt Lee will continue with Mohammed Mushtaq as his Assistant. Rohan Chinthaka (Manager) and Tharaka Vithanage (Physio) will be on tour with the team.
