Host union Malaysia won the Asia Rugby Under 18 Boys 7s yesterday after 2 hot days of competition at the EduCity Stadium in Johor Bahru Malaysia.
The 7 team competition was a round robin format with all teams playing each other once.
The penultimate round saw Malaysia facing off against an equally impressive China team for the title, where Malaysia prevailed 19-17 to the delight of the local crowd.
Final standings in the tournament were: Malaysia, China, Hong Kong, Korea, Qatar, Uzbekistan, Laos.
Malaysia’s slick playmaker Eddie Freedy was named Player of the Tournament.
