Iran bid to Enter a national XVs team in International competition got a boost by it successfully Hosting the 2nd Iran National Women’s XVs Championship this year
The First Women’s Rugby Series – 15s 2018 in Iran from 31 October -2 November, Four teams from all over Iran participated in this tournament: Shiraz, Datis, Alborz and Khorasan Razavi.
Four female referees judged these competitions.
Day 1 :
Semi final 1 :Alborz 5 – 19 Khorasan razavi
Semi final 2 :Datis 45 – 0 Shiraz
Day 2 :
3rd place Alborz 22 – 0 Shiraz
Final :Datis 5 – 0 Jhorasan razavi

“35 of the players came from the GIR projects, The goal is to expand rugby and increase the rugby population of Iran, And having a strong national team of 15 women And last year there were two teams participated this year 4 team,
We were proud the Tournament used also Female match officials, this is all credit to the work of our Head of Female match officer (Miss Sodabeh Keshtkar) We used two experienced match officials (male) to observe and guide the Female Match official in the competitions
Our program is for women besides mini rugby is for u15 u18 and Adults with more than 20 provinces in Iran,we would like to have our women’s rugby 15s (national team) in Asia tournaments if we find a sponsor we are not able to do everything we want due to lack of funds.”

“I am so proud of the team and happy we won but I am even happier with the Progress women’s rugby in Iran is making, We would like to participate in the international competition but don’t have the funds, We lack equipment and funds
I am trying to be a great coach so that in the future I can help players who play in Iran. I really love helping girls in Iran and I hope it can help. I really work hard to develop it in Iran, I love rugby
I recently became a world rugby level 2 coach and hopes to further increase my role in developing women’s rugby in Iran”
