Asia Rugby wishes to apologise to all the rugby stakeholders for the very unfortunate turn of events at the Asian Games whereby there was a 3 hour suspension of play on the morning of Saturday 1st September.
This resulted due to appeals being lodged to the event organisers, the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), regarding a scheduling change that was made to the women’s competition. As the Asian Games is an OCA event, World Rugby and Asia Rugby had to seek directives from the OCA regarding this matter, which regrettably resulted in the delay.
