Iran and Lebanon will meet each other in the ARC Division III West final on Friday after winning their respective matches at the Fouad Chehab Stadium.
When the sides met last year in the same competition Lebanon recorded a 25-24 point over Iran so all eyes will be on the final in Beirut on Friday.
In the day’s first match, Iran ran out 17-8 winners over Qatar, despite conceding the first try through Bader Bakaddouri.
Loosehead prop Amin Biabani Zadeh was Iran’s hero, scoring a try either side of fly-half Jalal Jahanbakhsh’s effort to help claim the win.
Despite a penalty from Andor Benyi for Qatar in the second half it was Iran who held on for the win to reach the final as Zadeh added his second of the match to secure the victory.
Hosts Lebanon made lighter work of their match with Jordan, winning 62-3 and scoring 10 tries in the process through 10 different players.
Having scored two inside the opening ten minutes through Rohan Zebib and Martin Wahbe, they added a further two before half-time through one penalty try and an effort from Camil Abou Farhat.
The hosts ran away with the match in the second half thanks to scores from
Tariq Al Kahldi. Raymond Finan, Hazem El Tawil, Omar Hamaoui, Steve Pere and Ben Abood.
