Welsh Website http://www.walesonline.co.uk/ Covers the Story of Asia Rugby President Mr Koji Tokumasu
“This is a really marvellous story spanning over 40 years which clearly demonstrates the true “Spirit of Rugby” and how the Game can change your life”, said Ross Mitchell, General Manager of Asia Rugby.
“Asia Rugby is very proud of our President, Koji, who has been so passionately involved in the Game throughout his life” he added.
How an epic voyage into Welsh rugby’s golden age inspired the man who took the 2019 World Cup to Japan
Koji Tokumasu’s rugby awakening came 40 years ago while working as a cleaner in Cardiff after responding to an advert in the Western Mail
He’s the President of Asia Rugby and the driving force behind Japan hosting the 2019 World Cup.
But to what does Koji Tokumasu put everything he has achieved in the game down to?… Welsh rugby!
By any measure, his is a truly remarkable story.
Having been blown away by watching the “beautiful” Wales team of the mid 1970s playing against Japan in Osaka, he decided he had to visit this mysterious land to discover the secret to its rugby success.
