Rugby India announced rugby’s inclusion in the Indian Universities curriculum and the University Games calendar.
It is a great step forward for the game in the country, building on the success of the #GetIntoRugby programme which provides training & playing opportunities to over 100,000 participants, including 40% of girls, since the beginning of the year
India is ranked 3rd in the World (2nd in Asia) according to its number of Get Into Rugby participants. The programme is implemented in 29 provinces.
Growing schools & universities rugby in Asia is part of the #ImpactBeyond2019 strategy to ensure a sustainable long-term legacy of the Rugby World Cup 2019.
