SLEMAT RAKISAN Asia Rugby sends its condolences to the family and friends of Slemat Rakisan, who sadly died, aged 57, as a victim of a road accident in Singapore on Thursday, 16th March. A Singapore Police Rugby Club stalwart, Slemat took to match officiating and became a senior referee for a number of years before holding a number of governance posts with the Referee Society and sitting on Judicial Committees. In recent years he became a long-standing member of the Asia Rugby Citing Commissioners team and served at Asia Rugby competitions. On behalf of those in Rugby across Asia who knew Slemat, Asia Rugby joins the Singapore Rugby Union and its Rugby community in bidding a fond farewell to a true volunteer, who helped raise match officiating standards, particularly across South East Asia. |
