In collaboration with Thai Beverage Public Company Limited. or “Chang” brand and Thai Rugby Union launched a press release “Chang and Thailand Rugby Sevens for Asia Rugby 2017 Season Opening” on Tuesday 21st February, 2017 at Meta Room, Rajpruk Sport Club, North Park, Viphavadi-Rangsit Road.
In this occasion, Mr. Suraphon Utintu, Director of the External Affairs Office, Thai Beverage Plc., and General Attapodj Klongtrujrok, President of Thai Rugby Union, told the presses about the background of the cooperation between Chang and TRU. General Attapodj Klongtrujrok, President of Thai Rugby Union, added how grateful he felt to have Chang as a main sponsor for TRU and how they would cooperate to get Thailand Rugby stronger.
In the event, there was the release of official players, official coaches and trainers for Thailand Rugby Sevens both male and female teams. Meanwhile, there was a warm party for both teams before their departures to compete in the tournament. Thailand Rugby 7s Men will depart to compete in their first tournament in Asia Rugby Sevens Trophy 2017 at Doha, Qatar between 3-4 March this year. This tournament is very important for them as the championship from this tournament will be hoisted to Asia Rugby Sevens Series 2017, which is the highest level of Asia Rugby.
Thailand Rugby 7s Women is currently number 1 in South East Asia and is 4th place of Asia Rugby. They will depart to join Borneo International Rugby Sevens 2017 at Sabar, Malaysia during 17-19 March, 2017. This will be their test match before their first league of Asia Rugby Sevens Series 2017 at Hong Kong in September.
With the sponsor from Thai Beverage Plc. this season, TRU believes that Thailand Rugby will get closer to success, and the development of Thailand Rugby will go much further to elevate Thailand National Rugby Teams to be the leader teams of Asia.
