The Laos national men’s rugby team convincingly beat the Indonesia Rhinos 48-12 in the Asia Rugby Championship Division 3 East #ARCD3E-2016 final at the Queen Sirikit Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
On a momentous and memorable outing for the entire team, outside Centre William Luangarath, with no less than four tries, led the onslaught of scoring by Laos. Thanongsone Xaysongkham contributed 2 tries while Phetthanousone Chittapong and Phouphet Phoutthavong pitched in with one each. Anousith Chaleunesouk converted 4 of the tries.
The two tries — in what proved a tough day at the park, a constant uphill struggle — for valiant Indonesia came from Wing Ian Atkinson and Stephen Field; with Outside centre and captain Justin Field converting one of those tries.
This year’s #Div3E Championship was hosted by the Thailand Rugby Union, which also provided both teams with warm-up games against the Thailand U20 team in the week leading up to the final.
This concludes this year’s Asia Rugby Championship which started with Qatar Playing Iran in Doha on the 16th of April and sow 19 teams take part playing 23 International test matches across 6 Divisions with Matches taking place all over Asia.
